The Farmer's Market

Yesterday was beautiful. We headed to the Farmer's Market to load up on produce (I've got some canning to do!) and afterward, as always, let the girls enjoy the playground.  We may not be within walking distance of Esther Short park like we were when the girls were babies, but it is still one of our favorite places to be! What a wonderful way to spend a crisp autumn afternoon!

The Sleeping Beauty

Yesterday Elora Kay got to fulfill one of her "lifelong dreams" by attending The Sleeping Beauty ballet performed by the Oregon Ballet Theater. The girls' cheers and applause were contagious as they watched the performance, completely enthralled.  We watched the performance at the Keller Auditorium in downtown Portland, and had a little chance to play over at the Keller Fountain, across the street.  Elora repeatedly showed us her "moves", curtsying and doing plies all over town.  I think it was a hit. (Even Joel had fun, and was willing to admit it!) Now we can't wait to go to the Nutcracker!!

Just Three Weeks

Little Man turned three weeks old yesterday!  I can hardly believe that he's still supposed to be cooking for another three weeks!  He has already grown so much and looks so different from one day to the next....I forgot how much fun it is to have a baby. (I did, however, remember the lack of sleep....)

Benson Beach

As promised, some pictures from last month that I never had a chance to post. We love the beach!  The girls, like their parents, can never get enough!!  Benson Beach, in the shadow of the North Head Lighthouse, is one of our favorite places on Earth.
