Seleia Knits!

Since beginning to teach Seleia to knit yesterday (at her repeated request), I am ASTOUNDED at how well she is doing. She woke me up (way too early) to help her fix a mistake, and every time she has a break for a few minutes I know where I'll find her...yup, on the couch, knitting! She is much better than I was on my first project. (Should I have a complex?) She makes mistakes, but she catches them and brings me her knitting to help her fix them. Her scarf is almost two feet long now! (I do think, however that she has a slight advantage in that her teacher is a fairly new knitter herself and remembers all the things she wished someone had told her when she first started out!) I have to admit it, Joel and I are so proud of her!

The "I'm going to the beach" dance.

Who really knows. The kid is goofy.

Camping for Labor Day!

We found ourselves at Cape Disappointment again this weekend...this time with a hundred or so people from our church. Seleia squealed when she saw that we were next to Uncle Jesse and the girls were very excited to get to see him all weekend. As we had a good deal of rain (including one monsoon-esque thunderstorm.. a very real reminder of the power of God!) not everyone lasted the entire weekend (We did see some unfortunate souls wringing out their pillows as they packed up their cars). We were extremely glad we stayed, however, for the weather turned BEAUTIFUL and we got to play in the water, fly kites, collect shells (even once by flashlight!), see a baby seal, and so much more! The girls saw some old friends and made some new ones, and spent the majority of the weekend on their bikes (there was a perpetual junior biker gang roaming the campground). Miss Elora Kay made it to the top of the climbing rock for the first time and was very proud! We saw some wildlife and enjoyed the view from the trails at Beard's Hollow and, as they couldn't fathom not going to the North Head Lighthouse, we stopped by on our way home. Now for the laundry......

Nature Walk

The girls went on a nature walk yesterday at some property belonging to a friend of ours (We couldn't see them from the house, but we could most definitely hear them!) I let Seleia take the camera and she would like to share their adventure with you. Ta-dah!
