Seleia singin' & groovin'

I know this one is a bit dark... Seleia is just to the right of the middle...you know, the one that's taller than all the other 2nd graders.

Les Aprons

Finally finished the aprons and got them off to NYC.. they arrived yesterday. Jen said they are so beautiful that she actually cried when she opened them. Which of course made me cry. I'm very honored to get to be a part of such a beautiful family tradition and to have gotten to craft family heirlooms. Here are a couple of the small ones.

VBS

This morning saw the beginning of "Son Rock Kids Camp" VBS for the girls. ( Elora couldn't wait to go to "PBS kids"!) I didn't do so well with taking Seleia to the 2nd grade class. How did that happen????? I missed out on the fun today but will be working there Wednesday through Friday. Tomorrow they wear "team colors" which means white for Seleia. She wants to wear that skirt/legging combo she got from Miah with her white tank top, but I refuse to send desperately seeking susan to church. We'll have to see what we can come up with!!

Legoland?

This afternoon I let Seleia take a few pictures while I made lunch.... and later found these on the camera. One of these days I'll finally get her that camera she's been begging for and let her make some scrapbooks of her own. It should be interesting!

Playin' Around

Miss Amarra ( Or as Seleia would call her when lecturing her, "Amarra Noel Vaughn Juhala"!) in a rare exhibition, hammed it up for the camera this morning. I'll spare you the close-ups of her teeth and eyeballs, which quite fascinated her. Here is my pretty girl!

Mama, take a video!

Need I say more?

Story Time!

Friday mornings are story time at the Library...with the festival going on it was nice and quiet, so Amarra ventured forward to sit with the other children (as opposed to with me) for the stories, but came back and joined me for the bell dance and the scarf dance. Yesterdays theme was fish, and each girl got to act out a story with a fish puppet... then afterward they made their own paper version to take home.

Fun Fun Fun!

What can I say? They love the rides! Elora kept patting her horse on the merry-go-round and telling it what a good girl it was, while big sis Seleia rode on the little ponies with Amarra so she wouldn't be afraid. The airplanes were the favorite, with plenty of squeals of delight!

Fun & Games!

After we taught them how to use the sights, Seleia and Amarra both shot a couple of targets!! (Elora, with no instruction, picked her rifle up and hit one on her first try. Quel Surprise.)

Planters Day Carnival

After the excitement of the parade, we headed back out at 8:00 for the carnival! After a few rides, a few games with exciting prizes, and a break at the playground, we laid out our blanket on the beach for the fireworks! The rain had already started to drizzle, so at a break towards the end of the show we dashed to the car, beat the rush and the rain out and watched the grand finale from our own backyard! It doesn't get much cooler than that!

Woodland Planters Days

Today the girls walked in the Woodland Planters Day Children's Parade.... They were in Princess Heaven. The role of Belle was played by 4 yr. old Gracie, And Tiny was her faithful Unicorn. Miss Woodland 2008, in the pink, is Chelsea, one of our favorite Starbucks baristas! In the blue are this years princesses, who took quite a liking to the girls. Between the royalty and the pony, Seleia about burst with sheer excitement! And now we're off to the carnival and fireworks!

Here she is, Miss Elora Kay!

Okay folks, pardon the sounds of the sirens ahead of them in the parade....just watch Elora work the crowd! She kept it up the entire parade! Hilarious! She was elbow-elbow-wrist-wrist, point at someone, blow a kiss, repeat! I wish the video did it justice.

Sweet Summertime!

The lovely ladies eagerly awaiting the arrival of their friends... Gryffin & Cordelia... fur some fun in the pool!

Happy Wedding Birthday!

The little pioneers were singing for Mimi & "Pop-pop"...my battery died mid-song but you can still get the gist....

Mama Mango!

I only caught the tail end of the excitement.... but Amarra instantly had to go get HER mango to show it the picture of its mother on Nonni's blog. Seriously, Mar, I need that picture! ( And, yes, she has insisted for years that flamingos say, "Geek Geek!!)

Don't get in this girl's way when she means business!!

At her Sleeping Beauty party this past March, Elora (disguised for the second half of the party as Jesse) meant business at the always exciting finale to a Juhala birthday, the pinata! (Mind you, each child had already had 2 turns at this point!) Maybe there are some childhood events you don't mind quite so much missing out on?? : )

LOOK ALIKES!

Joel is always saying he doesn't see it when I tell him that Elora is his spittin' image. I now have irrefutable proof and he denies it no more!
