A Little Curl

There once was a girl who had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead. And when she was good she was very, very good, and when she was bad.... Well, you get the idea.

Popcorn Picnic

Seleia and Elora, the only ones in the household not on their deathbeds today, took the camera outside for their popcorn grape and juicebox picnic in the little grass. I'm told they were laying in their backs looking at the clouds. The pictures are ever so lovely... especially the see-food.
We headed to the playground last night for some more bike practice and some good old fashioned play. Seleia rode around like crazy! (She mastered the braked rather quickly when a train came by..its just a soccer field away from the playground..and she had to hop off and plug her ears!) Amarra was bolder than ever, scaling the climbing wall for the first time unassisted, and Elora was her usual Kanevilesque self. (I took some videos, but as they won't seem to upload I'll try again tomorrow.)

King Me!

I knew the girls liked checkers, but our checkerboard bit the proverbial dust a while back and I'd been in no rush to replace it. I picked up a wooden set at a garage sale this weekend and its been in constant use since it came home. That was a buck well spent!

Go, Seleia, Go!

Seleia finally learned to ride...training wheel free!! (And Joel got a workout, running up and down the street with her!!) She attempted to learn a while back, but the bike was too small and her confidence was low! Now she's on Miah's old turquoise bike (Elora's had the purple one for a while! Thanks again!) and she got it down in one afternoon! She was beaming...still is, actually. She says she'll practice every day to be really good for Gryffin's bike party. Now we just need to work on braking...

Phil & Janelle's Wedding

Yesterday Joel's little sister got married! The girls were nervous about being flower girls, but they did beautifully, even in the rain! (Seleia was quite proud to have had previous experience!) Elora announced about 2/3 of the way up the aisle, "I'M OUT OF PETALS!" and Amarra, on the way down the aisle, tried to pick the petals up and put them back in her basket, but all 3 girls were as cute as could be, if I do say so myself! (Amarra did stick her tongue out during the ceremony and try to catch the raindrops.. Janelle probably wondered why everyone was giggling..)

On the Mend!

Dad had his surgery yesterday morning and is doing well! I got to talk to him this morning and he is now I.V. free and is only on oxygen. He even took a walk to the nurses station and back...not bad considering his heart was literally in someone's hands yesterday...but not surprising considering it has always been in the hands of God! Maralie, also, is doing well, all things considered. She had a ruptured ovarian cyst, and the worst is behind her. Thank you for your continued prayers.

Prayers for Pop-Pop

As most of you know, my Dad suffered a series of smaller heart attacks a couple of days ago. Tomorrow morning at 7 a.m. E.T. he goes into triple bypass surgery, as the small clogged artery in the back that caused the attacks is not the only problem. He also has a major artery in front of his heart that is 90% blocked. There is currently no damage to his heart muscle, and I praise God that they were able to find this out before a major, possibly fatal, heart attack ensued. I thank you for your continued prayers. My sister, Maralie, is also in the hospital tonight as she was suffering severe stomach and hip pain and could not stop sobbing and her husband, Jake, had to take her to the ER. I know nothing beyond that but ask for prayers for her as well. Thank you.

Elora and Chrysanthemum

Here is my sweet Elora Kay, helping to care for one of God's little creatures that she loves so much. Every time she helps with the Degus I love to listen to her coo, "Its okay, sweetie pie, don't worry sweet babies we are just cleaning your cage to make it nice and pretty for you, that's a good girl... oh, funny girl, you're so sweet..." I tell you that girl could charm the rattle off a snake. We added two to the ranks of our menagerie today: Lola and Sizzles, the hermit crabs. Now Charlie (Crab resident #1) won't be lonely anymore, and the girls feel very good about that.

Bowlin'

We went to a bowling party with the Remily family yesterday... a little regular bowling for the grownups ..I got 5 strikes! : ).. and bumper for the 8 and under crowd. This was the girls 3rd time ever bowling (and, funny, all 3 have been with the remilys!) and we had so much fun! They loved the game and they kept winning candy prizes, so they were really hopped up by the time we got out of there! Seleia would like to say that she bowled only with a ball that was an 8 and one that was a 6, and she rolled them tons of times (we played 2 games) and they went really fast down the bowling board!
