The Ice Age

Today we studied the Ice Age...not to the girls' initial dismay, the one with Sid the Sloth.  We learned new words like deluge, glacier and atmosphere. After the lesson, discussion, and a bit of reading comprehension we had a contest!  To get a small glimpse of how f-f-freezing things must have been on most of the planet, everyone held ice cubes in their hands for as long as they could.  The winner was to be awarded a quarter (a whole quarter!).  With such high stakes there was much determination all around but Miss Amarra emerged victorious!
